So in case you didn't know, our homeboy Ben Franklin had several famous aphorisms, which I can best describe as an entire sermon in a sentence. Life lesson in a can. Small, witty sayings that tell a whole lot with a whole little.
See what I did there yet?
Anyway, aphorisms! He had some!
One of these is:
"A penny saved is a penny earned."
Now this might seem silly at first, as if Ben had lost it or was talking about people with amnesia, but I promise it'll make sense. What he's saying here is, if you save your money, you can get better things with it later. Seems to me like this kinda fits that there virtue of Frugality.
"Men take more pains to mask than to mend"
What he's saying here is that we go to great lengths to hide our pain, but it would be easier to just let it show and try to fix the situation. He's trying to say this is bad, which kinda fits the virtue of humility, being humble enough to admit you have a problem.
"A true friend is the best possession."
This one is highly true among other things. He's saying that friends are all we need in this world, and it's good to have them. This feels like the virtue of Sincerity to me. Sincere friends?
Anyway, no matter how you spin it, THIS GUY:
is smarter than he looks.
